Joe Christiansen and his wife Sylvia founded Westside Machine & Supply, Inc. (commonly known as Westside Machine Shop) in 1956 in Miles City, Montana. Their son Hans joined the team, and together they built a thriving business. In 1971, the operation relocated to Missoula, Montana, where Hans's brother Ron also became part of Westside Machine. Over the years, Westside Machine and Supply, Inc. has evolved and is now in its third generation, with Hans's children, Joe and Linda, contributing to the legacy, including their work on westside engines and westside machine racing engines.
